In January, Canadian based Contexture Design (under the name 45 iPod Cases) began offering iPod cases for iPods ranging from 20GB to 80GB capacity made out of old vinyl record covers. The record covers are thermoformed and equipped with recycled felt padding, cork and an acrylic glass window. The center hole of the record fits exactly around the iPod click wheel. Each vinyl iPod case cost CAN$45 (US$38.45).

Now 45 iPod cases is offering custom iPod cases made of 7-inch vinyl records you, the customer, sends them. You simply send them an email with the artist you’re sending and the size and model of your iPod. Then you wrap up the album cover real nice and send it. When they get the package they will email you confirming your order and request for payment. Your custom iPod cases will cost CAN$52 (US$44.43).
