Universal Studios has partnered with Google to promote The Bourne Ultimatum starring Matt Damon. The third installment of the spy thriller, after The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy, hits theaters August 8th and to rev up fans Universal and Google are launching “The Ultimate Search For Bourne With Google” game.
When you visit the site you get the following message:
“How do you find someone who doesn’t want to be found? Track Jason Bourne across three continents in the ultimate mission. With Google tools at your fingertips, you will be well equipped. You may also have a chance to win amazing prizes.”
“The Ultimate Search for Bourne With Google,” which launches on Monday July 16th, is an interactive game that uses several Google products, including search, maps, images, translation and YouTube, to let players adopt the persona of Jason Bourne, the film’s hero. Players are given challenges each week at http://www.searchforbourne.com.
If you search Google for Jason Bourne or The Bourne Ultimatum in the US (doesn’t always work), you’ll hit upon an ad taking up the top part of the search results. The box reads:
“Become an agent in the Ultimate Search for Bourne with Google. The Ultimate Search for Bourne with Google begins in less than one week. Add the agent gadget to your iGoogle page to get the latest intelligence and the edge. www.searchforbourne.com/”.
… and allows you to expand a YouTube movie trailer.
Google previously team up to with Universal to promote The Break-Up and with Columbia Pictures to promote The Da Vinci Code where Google products like Google Video and the Google Personalized Homepage were featured.
